Modem 56k Conexant : impossible de se connecter

Bonjour,

En arrivant à Mayotte, j'ai eu la joie de retrouver la joie du 56k... et les difficultés à configurer un softmodem.

Sur mon Presario 2100 je dispose d'un modem Conexant. En essayant de rentrer les paramètres de connexion via le gestionnaire de réseau, je n'ai pas réussi à me connecter. Idem avec Gnome-ppp. Je suis donc allé regarder du côté de la doc sur les pilotes.

J'ai donc opté pour le pilote HSF produit par Linuxant et distribué en binaire par Dell en me disant "on verra bien si ça marche..."
Mon modem a bien été reconnu, et au redémarrage j'ai eu la notification liée à l'utilisation d'un pilote propriétaire. Avec Gnome-ppp, mon modem a bien été détecté, j'ai bien entendu la tonalité et le modem numéroter, mais alors que la connexion semble établie, ou sur le point de l'être, elle finit toujours par être abandonnée.

J'arrive finalement  me connecter sans problème (quand les lignes ne sont pas surchargées!).

La solution était... le mode stupide! ça ne s'invente pas...

Stupid Mode = on

cf .wvdial.conf

J'ai trouvé ça en testant avec les différentes options cochées ou décochées :
[X] Reconnexion automatique
[  ] Arrêter la connexion si la ligne est occupée
[X] Arrêter la connexion si pas de tonalité
[X] Check carrier line
[X] Check default route
[X] Ignorer les chaines du terminal (mode stupide)
[  ] Envoyer une réponse personnalisée
